I've just got this blog thing sussed (I think). I was a member of group 13 at WM. I've been reading my manual over the weekend, it has lots of very good and useful info! Also I've organised my 'security bucket'. I have opened an account with etrade and am just waiting for my welcome pack from them. I've been looking at telechart stuff too and trying to get familar with the whole thing. Its all new to me but I'm mad to get going on it.
Another thing I did last year, (got the idea from a Jim Rohn cd) was to simply change the way I pay my mortgage. I simply pat it every week instead of every month. Just divide your monthly payment in four, and pay this new amount each week. This has a double benefit, firstly it pays off more principal than the monthly payment, and also it means that you pay the equivalent of 13 months payments each year. These combined will knock years off the mortgage, saving you close to the original price of the house. ( My mortgage is 110k and I calculated I will save 90k. I think I'm right about this) One of my goals is to be mortgage free by end 2010.
